Did you know that you can pay for a spot on the first page? Many of our clients hear that and wonder why they just don’t just do First Page Placement and skip the whole organic SEO thing. You can go that route if you want to, but you’ll be missing out on natural traffic that could save you thousands of dollars in advertising and marketing expenses down the road. Paid placement is good when you’re first starting out or when we’re doing the link building to get you that top spot, but as a long term strategy it’s a terrible idea. There’s no residual value to it, only instant gratification while it’s in place.
Think of paid placement as paying rent and organic SEO as building equity in a home. The rent payments pay for a roof over your head only as long as you keep making them; the mortgage payments to build equity lead to a point when eventually you own your home. Link building as part of an organic SEO campaign is investing in your future. Eventually you’ll own a spot on search engine Page One and you can ease off on the spending. You’ll still have to do some maintenance, but the investment period will end.
If that analogy doesn’t work for you, try thinking of it in even simpler terms. Over the course of a year you will spend more on First Page placement than you would on link building to get you to Page One, and you’ll have nothing to show for it at the end of the year. In the world of small business SEO that is known as a poor decision. In this economy it could be a fatal one. Sure, you’ll get business out of the First Page Placement while it’s up, but if you mix that placement with organic SEO you can cut your marketing expenses down to almost nothing in your second year. Doesn’t that make more sense?
An internet marketing firm that knows what its doing will mix different strategies and techniques to ensure you’ll always get positive results from someplace. Webwise Media takes that one step further. We mix marketing techniques today so you don’t have to spend a lot tomorrow to generate new business. Organic SEO is by far the best way to do that. Even those once opposed it have to admit that now. Let us put you on the front page today with First page Placement, but make sure that position is secure for years to come with our ultimate link building program. Contact us to learn more.
PPC Management is a love-it-or-hate-it deal. Either you’ve had a bad experience where you lost money, or you’ve heard other people tell you it’s complicated and scary and you don’t want to get involved — or you’ve tried it and made money doing it, and you want to do it more (and better!). Most business owners who fall into that last category realize quickly that ‘more and better’ both come in the same package — a PPC management company. There’s just too much to do it all yourself, at least if you plan to make any really serious money with it.
Pay per click marketing is kind of like a rocket trying to escape gravity. You put money in (fuel), and you pick your keywords carefully (aligning your booster), and you click ‘go’. If you’ve done it right, the traffic will come in (rocket goes up), and the money you make (thrust) will exceed the money you spend (gravity). If you’ve done it wrong, your rocket comes sputtering back to earth, crashes, and leaves you staring at the burning wreckage and wondering what went wrong (and how you’ll pay for it all).
But that’s an incomplete analogy, because unlike a rocket, the website never reaches orbit. So long as you’re using pay-per-click marketing, you’re going to have to pay for more fuel constantly. Any sane businessman is going to want to get off of PPC management eventually (and on to some serious organic SEO if all goes well.)
So here’s a different analogy that may be more accurate: Organic SEO, with its backlinks and blogs and articles and SERPS, is like a marathon. Everyone has the same goal: to reach the end, where they can sit back and relax and watch their magnificent SEO cause floods of organic traffic that convert into sales and fill the bank account. Everyone might eventually get there, but PPC management is essentially like some special shoes that allow you to get a running start, getting serious money flowing long before you get near the end of the marathon, and essentially shortening the race by putting you a few miles in by the time the other runners are just slipping into their pace.
Ten words or less: PPC management is the head start you need to win.
